Tropical Cyclone Gita – Sofrana Surville, Southern Lily, Forum Pacific

Dear Valued Customers,

MV Sofrana Surville is currently sheltering in Honiara due to the path that TC Gita is forecasted to take, intersecting with the Sofrana Surville’s standard course as she travels from the Solomon Islands to New Zealand.

We are waiting for additional forecasts to become available before a decision is made as to whether the vessel will wait in Honiara again today, or whether she will recommence her Southbound journey.

If she sails today, the earliest that we expect her to arrive in Mt Maunganui will be Tuesday 20th of February, and Auckland 22nd. This would put her into Brisbane on 1 March. Dates are not yet finalised and we will update you again once the expected path of TC Gita becomes clear, and the effect that this will have on the Sofrana Surville’s passage to New Zealand.

Please wait for further advice on cargo receival periods before delivering cargo to port.

Additionally, the Southern Lily is experiencing delays, she was scheduled to arrive Tonga yesterday, but will now arrive late tomorrow, and the Forum Pacific is also delayed, with an ETA into Tonga of early tomorrow morning. These delays will of course affect subsequent voyages, and we will update you further once information is available.

As you are no doubt aware, TC Gita passed over the Kingdom of Tonga overnight. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected there.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while the situation becomes clearer, and we will update you again as soon as possible.
