NMSA Increase 1st Jan 2015
5th December 2014
NOTICE TO SHIPPERS / CONSIGNEES
PNG NATIONAL MARITIME SAFETY AUTHORITY INCREASE IN CHARGES
ANL has received notification from the NMSA on Saturday 22nd November that they were to apply significant increases in the fees charged for vessels calling at PNG ports from 1st December 2014. These increases were been applied without any input or consultation from the NMSA with industry.
Following strong objection from the shipping industry NMSA have agreed to postpone these increases until the 1st January 2015. The industry is now awaiting consultation from the NMSA in relation to these increases.
The increases been proposed are of a very significant amount and as a consequence of this we wish to advise clients of the following increases from the 1st January 2015
ANL is totally opposed to the quantum of the increases and will advise you if there we are successful in negotiating changes to the advised increases to be applied from 1st January 2015.
