The CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE joins the fleet: the first 23 000 TEU container vessel in the world to be powered by liquefied natural gas
The CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE has joined CMA CGM Group’s fleet thus becoming the largest LNG-powered container ship in the world. A global leader in shipping and logistics, CMA CGM has made the symbolic choice of naming its new flagship after its founder, Jacques Saadé, a visionary and entrepreneur.
Within the first half of 2020, ANL has imported 29,278 TEUs of plastic products into Australia. Of these various types of plastic, Poly vinyl chloride plastic (also known as PVC), in its primary form, takes top spot as the most plastic type to be imported in Australia thus far with volumes of more than 2,3000 TEUs.
Following the recent ‘Australian Imports: Consumer Commodities On The Rise’, we took the opportunity to analyse the decreasing trends in consumer commodities from January to June 2020 against the previous averages volumes. Largely derived from the global pandemic, consumer goods seeing a reduction in imports included games and sporting equipment, homewares as well as footwear and headgear.
Over the last 3 months, ANL Container Line and FLS Projects worked closely to transport 14 mining trucks totaling 1,440 freight tonnes of break bulk and 250 freight tonnes OOG cargo from Darwin, Australia to Halifax, Canada via transshipment in Singapore.
