TTZ Service - Wellington Port Closure

24th November 2016

Notice To Customers
Wellington Port Closure

Dear Valued Customer,

As you may be aware, the earthquake that struck New Zealand in the early hours of Monday, 14th November, has caused serious damage to the CentrePort Wellington facilities. As a consequence, all vessel berthing operations at their container terminal have been suspended until further notice while urgent surveys take place and repairs – where required – are undertaken.

At this time, damage assessments are still being completed by CentrePort staff and their assessors, which we are sure you will appreciate is technically challenging and complex. A media release from CentrePort can be referenced on:

http://centreport.co.nz/information-library/news/191-centreport-resumes-most-services-a-week-after-earthquake Thus until the Port of Wellington is open for full import and export receivals, ANL would like to offer our customers the following options for Wellington cargo.

• Bookings can be taken on either the Tranztas Service discharging in Tauranga, or on the Panama Service discharging in Napier.

o Note: If on the Panama Service a new rate will have to be filed – if one is not already in place – BEFORE bookings can be confirmed.

• For the Tranztas Service: Wellington cargo will be received for Tauranga discharge. Importers can then decide between the following options for Import delivery:

o Take delivery from the Port of Tauranga

o Request for ANL to arrange the rail movement to Wellington at a cost of:

*NZ$1450/20’ – NZ$2125/40’ for cargo up to 25T.

* NZ$1600/20’ – NZ$2250/40’ for cargo over 25T.

• For the Panama Service: Containers will be received for Napier discharge. Importers can then decide between the following options for import delivery.

o Take delivery from the Port of Napier.

o Request for ANL to arrange the rail movement to Wellington at a cost of:

*NZ$1000/20’ – NZ$1500 /40’ up to 25T.

* NZ$1100/20’ – NZ$1600 /40’ above 25T.

We would envisage that these options will assist you and your clients during this difficult period until the port of Wellington is open for normal business.

Please do not hesitate to contact your ANL Customer Service / Sales Representative for any further details and or assistance with your Wellington bookings.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience of this disruption in our services and please understand that all efforts are being made to get the port of Wellington up and running as soon as possible.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will revert with updates as they are received.

Thanking you for your continued support.
